Our client, a leading passive fire protection company based in Manchester, is seeking an experienced Carpenter to join their team for specialist fire door remediation projects. This role involves installing, adjusting, and sealing fire-rated timber doorsets to ensure compliance with safety standards. The successful candidate will carry out a variety of tasks, including fitting fire mastic, adjusting door frames, refitting beading, and installing intumescent seals. While fire doors are not frequently replaced, precision and attention to detail are essential in ensuring all remedial work aligns with strict safety regulations. You will work on both single and double doorsets on a pricework basis, offering a balance of challenge and reward for skilled carpenters dedicated to quality craftsmanship.
- Proven experience as a Carpenter, preferably within fire protection or similar fields.
- Valid CSCS card essential.
- Own full hand and power tool kit.
- Ability to interpret technical scope and carry out precise adjustments and installations.
- Knowledge of fire-rated door components, including intumescent seals and smoke seals.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently within project deadlines.
